When in Doubt: Dare! - On building favorable conditions for self-advocacy
This talk describes strategies that can help you feel better and sometimes get a better hand on a negociation. During my career in tech I have pivoted from academia into consultancy and into different kinds of companies, having individual contributor and management roles, sometimes simultaneously. Every jump in my life has been a challenge in which I have had to stand up, convince others of the value of my work and the things I can bring to the table, and deal with different outcomes. The journey has taught me valuable lessons that I have summarised into this talk. We will talk mostly about them and a bit about my own journey.
